Study: Whistling Helps Work Efficiency

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The secret to impressing your bosses? Whistle while you work, according to a new study.

The new study shows that music makes manual workers put in more effort. Just take it from Snow White!

Researchers believe the rhythm helps you feel less exhausted, so without even realizing it, you try harder.

This finding also explains why athletes feed off of the cheering from fans.

The study, in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), says that muscles are more coordinated when there is music.

Therefore, music does not distract you; it actually allows you to work in time to the beat.
