3 dogs killed, 4 injured after animal shelter break-in

Posted: Updated:
MACON, Ga. -

Three dogs were killed and four others seriously injured after someone broke into a rescue shelter.

Volunteers at All About Animals in Macon say they arrived at the facility on Friday morning and found 20 pit bulls fighting outside of their pens.

Workers say someone scaled the fence, let the dogs out and encouraged them to fight.

Four dogs were able to escape the melee; volunteers found them wandering the streets.

The shelter has no security cameras, so police have no leads on who committed the crime.

All About Animals Macon is accepting donations to help pay for veterinary bills and a new security system. If you would like to donate, visit their Facebook page.
