KUTZTOWN, Pa. -

A reported rape outside between a campus dining facility and a residence hall is under investigation at Kutztown University in Berks County, the school says. So far, no charges have been reported.

In a campus alert, the school's department of public safety and police services says the incident occurred around midnight in the area of South Dining Hall and University Place.

"If you feel uncomfortable in someone's presence, trust your feelings and take steps to distance yourself from him or her," the campus alert states. "Don't be afraid to make a scene if necessary. Tell someone! If you are victimized, KU has several resources that can help. Heart at KU, for victims of rape, sexual assault and intimate personal relationship violence, can be reached by calling the BWIC Hotline at 610-372-9540."

The school also urges students to report any suspicious persons or activity to university police and to call for an on-campus walking escort when without one.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the police at campus extension 34001, and confidential information can be given by dialing extension 3TIPS or 38477.
