The battle of the sexes has turned into the battle of the boroughs. When it comes to finding a place to live in the city, men and women have very different opinions on what makes an ideal neighborhood.
New high rise apartments here in Long Island City with a view of the Manhattan skyline seem to be very appealing to young men who are renting here.
According to the rental site Zumper, information showed this summer 80 percent male renters surveyed chose to live in Long Island City or Astoria, Queens, areas with traditionally lower rents than Manhattan but further away.
Young women prefer different neighborhoods, such as the Upper East Side of Manhattan, according to Zumper's data. Other areas that are more popular with women than men include Brooklyn Heights and Greenpoint in Brooklyn and the Upper West Side and Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan.
