A fun day on the high seas quickly turns into a tense one for three fishermen! Video captures what happens when they try and reel in the big one!
The marlin suddenly jumps onto deck; it's bill almost spearing the guy in the front of the boat. As soon as the marlin lands on the deck, one guy jumps ship.
Meanwhile, the two other men on board scramble to get away from the flailing fish and that spear of a bill. Video shows that one man is, in fact, stuck in his fisherman chair. The other man who's still onboard struggles to help him get out of his chair. The whole time, the marlin flaps around on board. Eventually, the man in the chair gets out, and the two presumably get to safety. There is yet no information on the identities of the fishermen.
Deep-sea fishing for marlin has long been considered an extreme sport by both professional and amateur fishermen since the 1930s. A fisherman and his struggle with a marlin is also the plot of the Ernest Hemingway masterpiece Old Man and The Sea.
