Pretzel Shop Robbery Victim Talks About Encounter With 2 Gunmen

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

"He looked at me and he said if I don't find this money you know what's going to happen to you," Secellion Oliver said.

He believes he's lucky to be alive after two masked gunmen took him captive at the Center City Pretzel Company early Tuesday morning as they tried to rob the store.

"In that type of situation you don't come out, they were dedicated to finding the money," Oliver told Fox 29. "If they start firing a weapon inside this place, no one's making it out of here."

The father of seven was in the middle of his shift when the two masked men entered, pointed guns at him and lead him to the rear office. They tied him up and demanded money.

Oliver says at one point when the bandits took off their masks, he thought he was going to be killed.

"Someone takes the mask off, they're not going to let you see their face and just say okay go ahead. At that point, I was looking forward to my higher power," he said.

Police credited Oliver with leaving the cash drawer open at the front of the store.

So when a customer, and then a police officer walked in to check the store, they noticed the open drawer and the officer began to investigate.

"I knew the steps I took to alert somebody, but we're talking about 15 minutes go past, 20 minutes go past," he explained.

The officer called for backup and within seconds more officers arrived. They entered the store with guns drawn and ordered the gunmen out of the back office with Oliver. They quickly made the arrest.

"They got it right they did everything exactly to the book," he said. "Thank you for saving my life."

Donte Cramp and Calvin Clark were arrested on robbery and weapons charges. Oliver says it's an encounter he won't soon forget.

"I'm very blessed, very blessed," he added. "God has proved himself to me."

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
