$300K Taken During Armored Car Heist In Holmesburg

The FBI and police are investigating a robbery of $300,000 from an armored car Thursday morning on Frankford Avenue in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia.

The heist involved a Garda armored car and occurred outside of a Wells Fargo Bank on Frankford's 8000 block, at Rhawn Street.

Police are describing the three suspects as black males wearing hoodies and armed with TEC-9 semi-automatic handguns.

FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports that two possible getaway cars have now been found, one on the 3100 block of Cresco Avenue and the other on the 3400 block of Arthur Street. Some of the money has been recovered.

An FBI evidence team is at the scene. No arrests have been reported.
