Getting Results For Owner Of Car Damaged By Air Force Van

Posted: Updated:
GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. -

A Gloucester City man found out the hard way that it's no fun dealing with Uncle Sam when you're sorting out an accident claim.

Joe berry tells us his parked 2007 Chevy Aveo was hit by a military van carrying a U.S. Air Force honor guard back on May 10.

The driver stayed around and admitted to causing the damage.

But Berry has spent the last six months filling out forms, making phone calls and waiting for the $2,300 he's owed for repairs to his car.

"We're supposed to be the richest country in the world, and I'm still waiting to get my car fixed. And it's sad. It's really sad," Berry said.

It's a frustrating story of military red tape, but there is a happy ending that came about when FOX 29's Bruce Gordon got on the phone with the Air Force.

You can watch Gordon's full report in the above video clip.
