PASSAIC, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey judge has refused to freeze the assets of a man who won a $338-million Powerball jackpot last spring, pending legal action by his former live-in girlfriend.

A judge ruled Friday that Pedro Quezada's lottery winnings can't be frozen pending the outcome of a trial to determine if Ines Sanchez is entitled to a share of the money.

The 44-year-old Quezada was the sole winner of a Powerball drawing that's worth about $152 million after taxes.

Sanchez and Quezada lived together for 10 years, have a child together, and shared ownership of a grocery store in Passaic.

Sanchez's attorney says Quezada was able to purchase the ticket based on shared earnings. Quezada's lawyer says Sanchez has no claim as the couple was never married.
