Driver killed after car strikes pole in Worth

WORTH TWP., Illinois (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A motorist was killed when a car struck a pole early Tuesday in south suburban Worth, police said.

About 4:30 a.m., another motorist called police and said a vehicle had struck a pole in the northbound lanes of Harlem Avenue at 116th Street, according to Worth police.

The driver of the car was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where they were pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office did not provide information on the crash Tuesday morning.
