BAUTISTA RUMOR - FOX 29 News Philadelphia | WTXF-TV

Posted: Updated:

Are the Phillies about to make a major trade for a power hitting outfielder?  FOX 29's Howard Eskin reports Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is talking "very seriously" with the Toronto Blue Jays about a deal that would land Jose Bautista in Philadelphia.  Bautista hit 24 home runs last year for the Blue Jays.  Howard is also reporting that if a deal is completed outfielder Domonic Brown would be one of the players headed to Toronto.  Once concern could be the age of the players involved in this rumored deal.  Jose Bautista is 33 years old while Domonic Brown is only 26.  Brown is coming off an all-star season where he hit 27 home runs for the Phillies.  This report surfaces on the same day that the Phillies agreed on a two year deal with outfielder Marlon Byrd.  Byrd hit 24 home runs last season for the Mets and Pirates.
