Main Line Reform Temple Creates Royals Parody

PHILADELPHIA -

17-year-old singer Lorde has been making headlines with her song "Royals." Now, a local group has turned it into a Hanukkah song.

The Main Line Reform Temple's Hanukkah song is called "oil," and it celebrates the story behind the Menorah.

The chorus that everyone knows the tune to goes:

We remember that oil (oil)
it'll keep the fire bright
and is the miracle the lights
or our strength and will to fight
Let me be your Judah (Judah)
you can call me Maccabee
and maybe you'll see why
it means so much to me.

The lyrics were written by Ross M. Levy, a Jewish rock, reggae and rap artist.
