Have you decorated for the holidays yet? A couple in Blue Springs, Mo started in September. That's because they have hundreds of santas to put on display.
Ron Potter has been collecting Santas for the past four decades, and now has put them to use for a good cause.
Potter and his wife's Blue Springs, Mo. home may as well be called the North Pole, due to a huge Santa collection that Potter started 40 years ago. The home displays hundreds, if not thousands, of varieties of Santas.
"I'm losing track; I have so many," said Potter. "How many do I have? I don't know! Probably over a 1,000 but the grandkids can't count them all!"
Potter said he started the collection by deciding to pick up a few Santas at a garage sale to decorate his mantle, and soon he had more than he knew what to do with. Now, his collection takes up the basement, the bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and even his bathroom.
"I loved Christmas, you know I had great parents who had me believe, believe in Santa," said Potter.
This year the couple opened the doors of their home to help benefit the Blue Springs Historical Society, for a homes tour as a way to help spread Christmas cheer. Saturday was the final day for the Christmas homes tour.
