Crazy Green Santa Shares Joy With Cash

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, Ore. -

He goes by the name "Crazy Green Santa" and he's made it his mission to change the lives of others in an unusual way.

A Youtube video documented how Bryan Warner gave away his life savings as his alter ego Crazy Green Santa.

This generous Santa gave away money in thousand dollar increments last weekend, to strangers he approached in Portland neighborhoods, making many ponder the question of why?

Warner says he'd been looking to fill a void in his life. He quit an unfulfilling job a couple of months ago, and recently came up with the idea of "Crazy Green Santa".

Although Warner is excited to start surprising others, he knows there will be many who think it's a scam.

"The people who are skeptics are going to think this is a scam. It's not a scam. This is a human being wanting to reach out, wanting to inspire other people to do something radically different, and care about other people. Don't put strings attached, just do it," Warner said.

Warner's son Marcus filmed all the action and what they thought would end up being a short video on Youtube ended up being twenty six minutes long.

"It's not just funny; it's also the reactions and the humanity people expressed. We didn't want to lose any of that," Marcus said.

The best part of all is that they will be continuing their gift giving and trying to devise creative ways to go about it.

"We're thinking of all kinds of crazy ideas about how this is going to have legs. It's not a flash in the pan." said Marcus.

They are thinking of selling t-shirts, and for every ten thousand sold, he'll give away 10 thousand more dollars, all the while inspiring others to give.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
