Gov. Tom Corbett Honors Pearl Harbor Survivors

HARRISBURG, Pa. -

December 7, 2013 marks 72 years since the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett attended a remembrance ceremony in Harrisburg honoring the families and survivors of the Pearl Harbor. Corbett honored five Pennsylvania residents who survived the attack that claimed the lives of more than 2,400 military service personnel.

The ceremony specifically honored Pennsylvania residents Hank Heim, Lyle Koenig, Charles Boyer, Donald Conner and Isaac George.

Corbett says "one of America's darkest hours gave way to a spirit and to a determination that has become part of our shared national character."

Corbett says "on that day, America changed forever, on that very fateful Sunday morning."
