Detroit Lions Fan Beaten By Eagles Fans After Big Win Sunday

PHILADELPHIA -

His Detroit Lions team got trounced by the Eagles at snow-covered Lincoln Financial Field, and then this Lions fan says he took a beating from Eagles fans on his way home.

"I had a line of six guys who blocked me," he told FOX 29 News on Monday.

The 33-year-old Detroit native, who did not want to be identified, was leaving the Linc after Sunday's 34-20 Eagles win in his Lions hat and jersey.

That's when he says he encountered half a dozen Eagles fans on Pattison Avenue as he approached the SEPTA station headed home.

He says they blocked the sidewalk and, when he tried to go around them, he was attacked by at least two of them.

"He came around, slapped me from one side. When he slapped me, I turned to the other side, another guy swung at me," he explained. "When he swung at me, he took me down."

The victim says he was knocked out, and when he woke up he was groggy and in pain.

"My hands swelled up. I already iced it. I'm bruised up on my back, I was knocked out and I'm sore. I have a bump on the back of my head," he added.

The Lion's fan managed to get on a SEPTA train and then limped home. His phone was smashed, but when he got to his house he called police, reported the incident and filed a report.

Police say they're looking for six white males wearing Eagles gear. The charge is aggravated assault.

"They were looking for this situation. They weren't gonna let it go. They obviously were probably drunk, wanted to fight," he said.

The victim says he also endured repeated taunting and being pelted with snowballs and plastic beer bottles during the game while he sat in his front-row seats behind the Eagles bench.

He said he has gone to Lions games all over the country and never experienced this level of aggression and violence.

"It's not worth going to games if it's going to be like this," he said.

Detectives are actively investigating this attack and looking for surveillance video of the incident.

There was a bit of a silver lining to this story, and it came from a kind-hearted Eagles fan who helped the fallen Lions fan up and started him on his way home.

The Lions fan says his Good Samaritan took off his Eagles jersey and threw it in a trash can, upset with the beating incident.
