Man Puts Festivus Pole In Florida State Capitol

Posted: Updated:

It's a festivus for the folks in the sunshine state.

A Florida court allowed Chaz Stevens, an atheist,  to put an aluminum pole next to a nativity scene at the state capitol building.

The eight-foot-tall pole is made of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer cans.

Stevens says the pole enforces his argument that no religious symbols should be displayed on government property.

Festivus was made popular in the 1990's sitcom "Seinfeld". The sitcom's character Frank Costanza declared that the festivus was a celebration for the rest of us.
