AZ Man Banned From Wal-Mart

Posted: Updated:

A man in Arizona is banned from Wal-Mart for life. He says it's because of his money-saving techniques, but Wal-Mart's got a different story.

Joe Cantrell says he was handcuffed and kicked out of the store for trying to get a discount based on the stores' price matching policy.

However, Wal-Mart claims he threatened a worker and that's why police were called.

Wal-Mart said in a statement:

The safety of our associates and customers is our top priority, and we find threats of violence unacceptable. This customer threatened our associate with bodily harm. Out of abundance of caution, local law enforcement was contacted. Due to continuous threats of violence, the customer is no longer welcome at the store.

"Never once did I look at this man and say, ‘I'm going to beat you up; I'm going to do that use profanity toward him.' Never once did I do that," replied Cantrell.

Now Cantrell is banned from entering any Wal-Mart in the world again.

"They wanted me out of the store and it's all because of ad match. I became really good at ad matching and I believe that's their excuse to kick me out," said Cantrell. "Wal-Mart is wrong for this and I'm going to fight back as much as I can."

Interestingly though, Cantrell might be one of Wal-Mart's best customers. He says he shops there at least twice a day.

Cantrell has to go to court next month to face the charges against him.
