Secret Elves Bring Christmas Joy To Local Family

WALLINGFORD, Pa. -

A Delaware County mother and daughter who have not had it easy received good tidings from some secret elves.

Fox 29's Dave Kinchen shows us how elves are trying to lift their spirits.

Amiee Disney says the magic of the Christmas season returned to her and daughter Brianna. She's suffering from a brain tumor, seizures…and the after effects of chemotherapy.

"She's got some anxiety issues. She's got some depression issues," Aimee said.

In addition to the struggle, the holidays remind this 11-year-old of her father who died from cancer just a few years ago.

"I wish… (I could) have my dad on Merry Christmas…I miss him," Brianna said.

So leave it to hidden heroes with a creative list delivering a special 12 days of Christmas. The past several nights, a mysterious sight a figure with a red bag comes to their door. The doorbell rings…

"I open the door I'm like this is weird, nobody's here," Brianna said.

The first gift was a pear like the partridge in a pear tree then a note bringing more laughter and glee. Her Christmas season has become special with more nights, more gifts, to stock the shelves brought courtesy of their "Secret Elves."

"You hear so much of the bad things that are going on in this world and then you see this. These people are really making us really happy," Aimee said.

But they can't help but wonder who is behind the generosity.

"We keep thinking that it's either someone around here or it's one of our family members," Brianna said.

"I just hope that they know who ever that this is doing this for us, that they've really changed this Christmas for me," Aimee said.

Brianna goes through routine treatment for her tumor and her family says this small random act of kindness in the spirit of Christmas goes a long way in making her stronger for the procedures ahead.
