CAMDEN, N.J. -

A mom and her daughter won't be homeless for the holidays. They've gotten a place to live, a home to call their own this Christmas.

"There's no place like home for the holidays. Before Santa Claus even arrived, 8-year-old Giavonna Doughty-Baker's Christmas wish was granted she and her mom now has a place to call home.

Michelle Doughty and her daughter lived in a homeless shelter in Camden up until 2 weeks ago when the she was approved for her first apartment in years.

Doughty has been through hard times but is going to school and earning a degree working to make a better life for her and her daughter.

"Sometimes I feel like I'm still dreamin' I come downstairs and I'm like look at all this stuff," Michelle said.

Bianca's Kids, a nonprofit organization in New Jersey , caught wind of the pair's story. They quickly rallied up support from sponsors and collected donations. On Saturday, a team of Santa's helpers loaded a moving van full of furniture and home decorations. In just two hours this team of volunteers surprised Michelle and her daughter with a total home makeover.

The home came with a cozy couch and family room , a full pantry of food and cabinets packed with dishware not to mention two finished bedrooms.

These elves left no room untouched.

"I'm amazed that there are still some people who care still people out there that can help someone," Michelle said.

While this mother daughter-pair prepares for the actual Christmas holiday, They can do so in their own home and begin making happy family memories that they can cherish for a lifetime.
