Police warn of Bronzeville robberies

Police are warning residents of the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood to be on alert after several robberies were reported in the last week.

The incidents occurred on:

- Dec. 17 at 7:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Vernon Avenue.

- Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of South King Drive.

- Dec. 18 at 11:05 p.m. in the 500 block of East 32nd Street.

In each robbery, between one and five suspects approached the victims, implied or showed a weapon, and demanded their property, according to a community alert from police.

The suspects are described as black boys, between 15 and 16 years old, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 and weighing between 140 and 170 pounds, police said.
