NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The NYPD says the body of a man was pulled from the Central Park Lake on New Year's Day.

They say SCUBA divers discovered the body around 3 p.m.  The victim has been identified as Aronno Haque, 22, of Queens.

Haque was last seen Mondy at about 1:30 p.m. near Union Square Park.  It wasn't immediately clear how long his body had been in the water.

Divers were sent in after some of the victim's property was found near the shore on Tuesday.  They were unsuccessful in finding him and went back on Wednesday.  The body was found about 10 feet from the shore.  The NYPD is investigating it as a possible suicide.
