Man Steals Purse, Vehicle from Elderly Woman

Delaware State Police are looking for a suspect that stole not only a purse from an elderly woman, but her vehicle as well.

The incident took place at the Shoprite on Chestnut Hill Plaza in Newark, DE just after 3 P.M. on Thursday.

The suspect in question followed the victim in the store and then stole her purse from her shopping cart. The purse also contained the woman's vehicle keys.

Police reviewed video and captured the suspect leaving the store and driving away in the victim's automobile, which is described as a silver four-door 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis with white wall tires and silver rims. The car had Delaware tags with the number 133567.

The suspect is described as a black man between 20-30 years old, 5'6" to 5'8" and about 190 to 220 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark zippered hoodie with "Ecko Unltd" gray sweat pants.
