Surveillance Captures Man Running Over Dog

Posted: Updated:

A shocking case of animal cruelty was caught on camera in Hawthorne, California.

Police arrested 45-year-old Michael David Parker on January Third for running over and killing his ex-wife's dog.

"We found out that it was him seen with the dog in the video and we contacted the wife," said Lieutenant Scott Swain of Hawthorne Police.

Investigators discovered a surveillance video that reportedly shows Parker driving into an alley. He then fiddles with his trunk before getting back into the car.

That's when the Chihuahua named Cow Cow runs front of the car.

Graphic video shows the car backing up and then rapidly accelerating. It runs over and kills the little dog.

"I'm sad just finding out that my dog is dead," Olga Parker said. "If someone is capable of hurting a little doggie, then who tells me he's not going to do something to my kids?"

"I felt really bad, I thought it was sleeping," said someone who saw the dog dead.

Parker's estranged wife Olga says she believes the dog was killed in retaliation over a bitter divorce feud.

"I believe that's why he was so mad and angry at me, to get back at me, this is what he did to my dog," she said.

The couple had been fighting over retirement funds and a vacant home that they jointly own. Parker will be arraigned on March 25th.
