Woman Proposes To Boyfriend At Basketball Game

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -

This was a big game, both on court and off court. For Angel Brame, all she could think about was half-time.

After dating for about six years, she didn't want to wait for her boyfriend to pop the question. She wanted to take the lead. Tonight was the night she'd get engaged.

Her proposal appeared on the Jumbotron at half time.

"Donald Johnson, will you marry me?" the words asked.

"I definitely did not know. I was definitely surprised," said Johnson. "I had to look at the name a bunch of times just to make sure it was actually my name."

Of course he said yes. Now, the promise rings will be traded in for wedding rings.

"In front of his favorite team, the Miami Heat," said Brame. "I thought I looked like the best future wife in the world to have done this."

While it wasn't a real fairy tale proposal like in the movies, Brame said that she was happy to do the asking.

"I knew it was time," she said. "It's been six years."

Brame cried tears of joy as she kissed her husband.
