NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

A man who trespassed into the United Water treatment plant in Manalapan, N.J. was rescued after he became stuck in an outflow pipe.

United Water spokesman Rich Henning told the Associated Press that the man broke into the plant that treats and pumps water for the township.

Workers heard cries for help coming from a pipe around 7 a.m. Friday.  The man was stuck about 15-20 feet into the small pipe.

Manalapan Mayor Jordan Maskowitz told reporters at the scene that sections of the pipe were removed and heat was pumped in.

A large gathering of emergency workers surrounded the pipe to remove the section and free the man a few hours later.  He was taken away by an ambulance and his condition was not known.

The man has been identified as 26-year-old Asaf Mohammed. He has been charged with trespassing.

Henning says the outflow pipe is used for cleaning a storage facility and is no more than 24 inches wide. He says there's no problem with the water quality.
