Brett Hannaford is the first person to use a new device called "The Rewalk," which gives him the ability to walk again.
Physical Therapist Ashley Clark calls the Rewalk the "wheelchair of the future."
"The movement's good... and fluid it just feels natural," says Hannaford.
Hannaford was paralyzed from the waist down in December 2012 because of an emergency landing that landed too hard in a field.
Since then, Hannaford has been working with physical therapists using the device in hopes of being able to walk again.
"I'm still going to get in the airplane and I'm still gonna do what I love to do, which is fly planes. And it's going to happen very soon," says Hannaford.
