Yearly Study: How Much Would Stay-At-Home Moms Be Compensated?

Posted: Updated:

How much are stay-at-home moms worth? A new survey breaks down what they'd be compensated if they earned wages for their hard work. says that mothers would make more than 100,000 dollars for 94-hours of work, $113,568 to be exact. The poll also found that the average working mom would make just a little more than 67,000 dollars for the work done at home, $67,436 to be exact.

Survey participants were asked their top-ten time-consuming tasks. Researchers then applied salary data to calculate earnings.

For example, housekeeping, a stay-at-home mom's busiest chore, takes up, on average, 14.4 hours every week. The standard pay for that is about $10.10. Other tasks like laundry operator, day care teacher, cook, etc. were all added in. After accounting for base salary and overtime, the total 94 hours yielded the $113,568.

The study looked at more than 6,000 mothers.
