NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

With more snow expected to move into the tristate area Saturday, January 25, New York City's Sanitation Department issued a snow alert for starting at 11 a.m.

Although only a coating to an inch is expected in the city, the Sanitation Department is taking precautions by preparing salt spreaders and plows, and giving the head's up to extra workers if they are needed.

Snow squalls are expected Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

A storm on Tuesday dumped close to a foot of snow on the city. Some neighborhoods had gridlock traffic and unplowed streets, leading some to criticize the department's response.
