CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A snow plow driver stopped an allegedly drunken driver who was going against traffic on the Interstate 90/94 Kennedy Expressway early Saturday.

Police received numerous calls at 2:53 a.m. of a van headed north in the southbound lanes of the reversible express lanes of I-90/94 near Ohio Street, according to Illinois State Police.

An Illinois Department of Transportation snow plow driver in the reversible lanes was notified of the wrong-way driver. The man driving the plow got in front of the van, slowed down and made contact to bring it to a stop near Fullerton Avenue, state police said.

The man driving the van, whose age was not specified, was charged with DUI on Saturday morning, according to police.

No one was injured in the incident. The front of the driver's van sustained moderate damage, state police said.
