Family Reunited With Cat After 11 Years

Posted: Updated:
Las Vegas, NV -

Linda Edwards' cat, "Spaz," went missing in 2002. After a tireless search, the cat was never found and the family lost their optimism in being reunited.

However, eleven years later, a good Samaritan found the cat and took it to a West Flamingo Animal Shelter as a stray. The shelter immediately saw that the cat belonged to someone, and they soon found the owner.

When the Spaz went missing, he weighed about 14 pounds. Upon his return, he had a grungy, dirty, and thin appearance. Edwards recalled to reporters how she searched every day for three months after Spaz disappeared. On New Years Eve of 2002, she finally told herself to stop.

Edwards says she was full of tears when she heard they had found her cat. She still had flyers that she posted when Spaz went missing. Those were symbols of hope, and those little memories are now replaced by nine lives.
