You'd think men would know that cheesy pick-up lines don't work, but that doesn't stop them from using one.
The dating app Flirt Plant has named this line as the worst pick-up line: "I like your dress, but it would look better on my bedroom floor."
Only five percent of women surveyed said they would ever fall for something like that. Most said they would prefer a simple compliment (more than half of those responded preferred this), or for the guy to buy them a drink (~44%). Women also said that jokes are okay, just not corny pickup lines.
Here are some other bad pick up lines on the list:
- Are you tired? because you've been running around my mind all night.
- You look like a parking ticket because you've got fine written all over you.
- Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?
- Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk past again?
- Is your father a thief? Because he must have stolen your eyes from heaven.
Some other interesting survey findings include:
Getting drunk on a first date would be frowned upon by 41% of women, while one in four would get bored if a potential partner talked about politics.
Just under 50% women said that they would be put off by their date trying to get them into bed on the first date, but maybe not surprisingly, just 10% of men said they would find that a problem.
