'Victims' of NJ Lane Closures To Protest At Bridge

Posted: Updated:

FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - Some northern New Jersey residents are returning to the scene of a notorious traffic jam.

They call themselves victims of the Fort Lee lane closures, which have created a major controversy in Gov. Chris Christie's administration. Released emails and text messages appear to show the lane closures were ordered by one of Christie's top aides.

Two progressive activist groups are sponsoring a news conference Tuesday near the base of the bridge. Some people who were caught in traffic in Fort Lee last September because of the bridge closures will attend and share their stories.

The two groups will also present a petition they say has been signed by 10,000 New Jerseyans, asking for Christie to resign.
