Mom Uses Facebook To Give Son Best Birthday Party!

Colin, a young boy from Michigan, is turning 11 next month but told his mom he didn't want a birthday party. He said he didn't have enough friends to invite, but his mom was determined to rally up support for the young boy.

Colin has a sensory-processing disorder similar to Aspergers syndrome that makes it difficult for him to socialize. Despite his charm, other students don't always relate to him because of his actions.

His mom, Jennifer, decided to create a Facebook page in hopes of retrieving about 50 likes to show her son how loved he is.

Right now, as of 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the page has accumulated over 1.3 million likes and is growing every hour. Facebook users worldwide have been visiting and liking the page, creating a large community of fans and supporters to give Colin a truly happy birthday.

"I am Colin's mom, I created this page for my amazing, wonderful, challenging son who is about to turn 11 on March 9th. Because of Colin's disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him," wrote Jennifer on February 2. "So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn't a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party."

In addition, Jennifer has been flooded with mail wishing Colin a happy birthday. It seems that with this showing of support, Jennifer has shown not just Colin, but the world, that with the right amount of urging and love, people can care, and care a lot.
