Boy Writes Sick Mother Touching Letters In Snow

Posted: Updated:

A young Illinois boy leaves his mother a snowy message outside her hospital window.

14-year-old Will Hart wanted to cheer his mother up. Shari Hart recently learned she had leukemia.

"I thought it would be nice for my mom to see it and for others to feel happy," said Will Hart.

During a hospital stay last week, Will decided to send his mother a message in the snow that she could see from her hospital window. Therefore, he went to the top of a parking garage across the street and wrote: "HI MOM. GOD BLESS U."

"It was a big proud mommy moment," said mother Shari Hart.

Will's mother wasn't the only person who benefited from his thoughtfulness. Nurses say that it really hit home for other cancer patients, too.

"We were looking up into the windows & we could see a lot of people looking down & We kind of knew a lot of people were appreciating it," said Tim Hart, Will's father and Shari's husband. "It's incredible. It's incredible how a simple message of love to his mother can blow up."

"It's making them feel good & giving them some hope," a nurse agreed.

The parking garage has since been plowed, but crews waited as long as possible before cleaning up the snow, hoping the "mom" it was intended for would see the message.
