NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Crime Stoppers are offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a person who left a bomb threat written in a bathroom last Thursday at Neuqua Valley High School.

Part of the school was placed on "soft lockdown" around 11:30 a.m. after the bomb threat was discovered written on the wall of a restroom, according to release from Crime Stoppers.

"It's still under investigation at this point," Sgt. Bill Davis said Friday of the hoax that disrupted classes for just over 90 minutes for some students and faculty members at the school at 2360 95th St.

An unknown number of classrooms were affected by the emergency, with dozens of students and their teachers relocated to the school's auditorium.

The threat was specific to a certain area of the school, according to the release.

Police K-9 units were sent to the campus to search for explosives and other contraband. The last police car left the area about 2 p.m., Davis said.

Davis would not discuss the content of the threat.

Janet Buglio, executive director of communication services for Indian Prairie School District 204, would not disclose such details as the location of the restroom in question or the number of students, teachers and others affected by the situation.

"As you know, we are unable to comment on an ongoing police investigation," Buglio said Friday in an email.

"Parents were notified that the Naperville police lifted the soft lockdown with a phone call from the school at approximately 1:10 p.m. (Thursday)," Buglio said. "The school day returned to normal at that time."

Anyone with information about the threat or the suspect can call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006.
