WCU Student Scores Big And Almost Takes Grand Prize

Posted: Updated:

Jack Lavery, a freshman at West Chester University, had the chance of a lifetime to win $10K at his school's home game.

Every home game, WCU picks a student at random to attempt a pretty difficult challenge: make a lay-up, a foul shot, a three-pointer, and a half-court shot. Did we mention they only get 25 seconds to do it? But Lavery, originally from Horsham, PA, came pretty close.

He made all 4 shots in 25-seconds, but the rules of the game require he make all shots on the first try. Despite achieving the seemingly-impossible, he did not win the $10,000.

The video was uploaded to YouTube on Feb. 15, 2014 and has earned more than 20,000 views. Commenters on the video aren't too pleased by the outcome of his miraculous shots.

"That rule is BS, he deserves that money. In my 3 years watching basketball here, NOBODY has made a half court shot let alone on the first try!" writes youtuber Hagamexsonreir.

Adam Tharp's comment, "they never announced that rule at the game....pay the man," has already gotten 16 likes from fellow viewers!
