It was a bitter sweet homecoming for a very special little boy. Three-year-old Brayden Chandler received a Hero's Welcome at Philadelphia International after a trip to Disney World.
Then, he got a special escort from local police back to his home in Delaware County.
All of this, as he fights a rare form of kidney cancer. Today is all about giving Brayden and his family great memories.
After all he's given us so much inspiration with is difficult fight against cancer.
So several police and fire departments from across the region arranged a motorcade fit for a king.
He came home like the superstar he is 3-year-old Brayden Chandler leaving Philadelphia International Airport with his parents coming home from a big vacation at Disney World.
He found one of his favorite things waiting outside.
From scores of police cars as far away as Radnor and Springfield, numerous agencies escorted him to his Delaware County Home.
They say Brayden was more tired than anything Brayden is fighting cancer diagnosed with a kidney tumor. He's been struggling for 13 month and doctors now say he only has weeks left to live.
His parents were deeply moved by the outpouring of support.
"He was out the window waiving to people but he got tired. Big day for him. Big week," Jackie Chandler said.
FOX 29 went along for the ride and saw perfect strangers from town to town lining the streets sending Brayden messages of love and it may have been a little much.
When he finally got home, another rock star's greeting.
Brayden may have rubbed shoulders with legends in Florida, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation but close family friends arranged the escort as another gift.
"I know that we're going to make him happy today and his mother and father but they still have a devastating thing to take care of."
Brayden's parents say they are grateful for everything.
"I just want to thank everyone. Thanks for your support. It's very nice," Jackie Chandler said.
To add to Brayden's special week, he was also made an honorary police officer in Folcroft just one more way of praising his courageous fight.
