Wilmington Tattoo Shop Closed For Unsterilized Needles

Posted: Updated:

Delaware's Division of Public Health closed a New Castle County tattoo shop last Thursday and suggests that previous customers and employees get tested for possible HIV and hepatitis infection.

The True Heart tattoo shop on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, DE was using unsterilized needles on their customers and violated several other health regulations.

Officials estimate almost 500 people are at risk for HIV and Hepatitis C. These individuals will be contacted by DPH by letter urging them to contact their medical provider.

Delawareans can also contact DPH's Office of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at 888-295-5156 with questions about health risks.
