Flurries Tuesday, Then Some Snow For Wednesday Morning

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA, P.A. -

Hope you enjoyed the weekend because that colder air continues to head in our direction.

FOX 29 Meteorologist Sue Serio says we're continuing to look at some of that polar energy and arctic air moving toward the Philadelphia area. In fact, the snow showers will be showing up earlier than expected today.

On Tuesday, it is starting mostly cloudy and cold. There is an area of light snow to our South that is moving from the Baltimore/Washington area into Delaware. It will bring scattered snow flurries that could make roads slippery, Serio said. It could coat the ground in Delaware, but there won't be much.

Just be on the lookout for pockets of light flurries as well as some light snow showers as we move into the mid-afternoon timeframe.

Then, for your Wednesday, the concern here is the timing – it looks like some early-morning, light snow. Minor accumulation is expected, so this could impact the morning commute. However, Sue Serio says to only expect about an inch of snow.

The snow will move from west to east across the region, and our FOX Futurecast shows it right around the Philadelphia area at daybreak. Then it continues down the shore and should be out of here by noon.

SLIDESHOW: FOX FUTURECAST

One thing we know for sure is the cold air is here to stay for a while. In fact, the temperatures will be below freezing for most of the week. Next week could see another system! Yes, another one. When will this end?
