MEDIA, Pa. -

Trial is scheduled to open this week for four Philadelphia residents charged in the shooting death of a drugstore manager in suburban Philadelphia last fall.

David Wiggins, Tariq Mahmud and Christopher Parks all face murder and conspiracy charges in the death of Jason Mcclay.

Police say the men, along with two others, were involved in a robbery attempt at the store on 9th and Highland Streets in Chester back in September.

Authorities allege that Rita Pultro and David Wiggins tried to rob a Rite Aid in Chester on Sept. 19 but ended up shooting 40-year-old Jason McClay of Broomall before fleeing. The Navy veteran was pronounced dead at the scene. Pultro and Wiggins are charged with first-degree murder.

Prosecutors allege that store employee Tariq Mahmud provided information about security procedures and Christopher Parks was the getaway driver. They face second-degree murder charges.
