PHILADELPHIA -

For the first time in 46 years, Neumann-Goretti has become the first school in the Catholic League to win both boy and girl basketball championships.

The previous school to do so was Cardinal O'Hara in 1968.

The boy's PCL championship game was against arch-rival Roman Catholic. Neumann-Goretti beat Roman Catholic 53 to 48. The boys team have now won their sixth straight title.

The girls beat Archbishop Wood 55 to 46. The win for the girls was the first since Neumann merged with St. Maria Goretti. The last time the title was won by the girls was in 1978.
