Prop Grenade Left Behind By Film Students Causes Evacuations

NORTH PHILADELPHIA -

The Conwell Inn hotel, located on the campus of Temple University, was evacuated on Sunday night after a "grenade-like device" was spotted.

Officials got the call just before 6pm on Sunday night for a suspicious device located inside the Conwell Inn on Temple's main campus. temple and Philadelphia Police Officers responded to the scene and evacuated the hotel. An alert was sent out to all Temple students. The device was quickly removed by the Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad.

The University said that the grenade was a prop grenade that was left behind by film students from another school. The scene was cleared and declared safe in less than 30 minutes.
