Brush Fire Burns Near Businesses In Central Jersey

Posted: Updated:

A brush fire burning in Edison created a smoky mess Thursday in New Jersey.

Plumes of black smoke were billowing high into the sky Thursday as the blaze moved along the swamp grass of the Raritan River.

Strong winds were also blowing the smoke toward Woodbridge and Staten Island, N.Y.

A large area of land was already charred by the flames.

Authorities were responding to the blaze near a business complex which houses hundreds of businesses.

It's unclear how the fire started.
