Victim ID'd in Deadly Chester Township Fire

The Delaware County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim of a deadly morning fire as Shawn Phillip Brodie, 39.

A fire broke out on 1536 Rainer Road around 1:30 a.m.  Brodie was stuck inside and was pronounced on scene. According to the medical examiners report, Brodie died of soot and smoke inhalation, as well as extensive burns.

The fire spread to the neighboring houses and displaced four families. They are currently receiving help from Red Cross.

The fire was under control around 3:00 a.m.

Authorities have not released what started the fire.
