PHILADELPHIA -

The Philadelphia Police Department's Northeast Detective Division is looking for a suspect involved with multiple robberies in Oxford Circle and Lawndale.

The first robbery happened on April 8, 2014, at 2:15 p.m. when a store employee for Acme Supermarkets located at 6601 Roosevelt Boulevard was confronted by an unknown male who was inquiring about an item.

The offender then asked the employee to show him which aisle the item was in. Once there, he told the employee he had a gun in his jacket. He then forced the employee to the cash room. After refusing to enter the cash room the suspect threatened to shoot other employees in the store. After the employee refused to enter the cash room and a failed attempt at obtaining money, the suspect fled the store and was last seen toward Unruh Avenue.

The second robbery happened on April 8, 2014, at 3:23 pm; the offender approached an employee of a Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 5694 Rising Sun Avenue in an aisle. After the suspect simulated he had a gun by placing his hand inside his coat pocket and poking her side, he demanded she take him to the back office.

After the employee refused she then went to her register where she waited on two customers.

The offender then approached her register demanding money from her drawer. After refusing to the suspects demands, the suspect fled and was last seen north on Rising Sun.

Both incidents were captured on surveillance video. Police describe the suspect as a black male, mid to late 40 years-of-age, 5'6"-5'-8", 190 lbs., round face, with a stocky build. He was wearing a black knit hat, black jacket, blue jeans, brown boots, and a black backpack at the time of the robberies.
