FREDERICA, Del. -

Delaware State Police say they have arrested a Frederica man for his 6th DUI offense after a crash near Harrington.

According to police, on Tuesday April 29th at approximately 5:12 p.m., troopers responded to a three vehicle crash at the intersection of Milford-Harrington Highway (SR14) and Killens Pond Road.

Authorities say that Elsworth M Smith III, 30, was operating a 1994 GMC Sierra pick-up truck southbound on Killens Pond Road and came to a stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection with SR14.

Smith allegedly failed to remain stopped and pulled out into the path of a Dodge Durango where the two collided. According to police, Smith continued southbound where his vehicle struck a Honda Civic, which was stopped at a stop sign.

All involved in the crash were treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they charged Smith with his 6th DUI offense. His offenses date back to 2001, according to police.

Smith is being held on over $14,500 cash only bond.
