Police Search For Suspects In Falls Township Armed Robbery

FALLS TWP., Pa. -

Police say they are searching for armed robbery suspects who struck in a Falls Township apartment complex on Saturday night.

Fox 29's Dave Schratwieser reports.

Police believe this was a random crime targeting an unsuspecting woman in the complex. Falls Township police are working on some good leads, but women from the apartment complex are still scared.

Police say the female resident was robbed in the parking lot Saturday night by a hooded man carrying a handgun equipped with a laser.

According to police, the woman had just picked up a pizza and was returning to her apartment in Building "C."

Police say as she parked her car, she noticed a vehicle race past her and do a U-turn. Seconds later, the car pulled up and blocked her in. According to police, a man with a gun got out of the car and she noticed a red laser dot on her chest as he demanded her purse.

Police say the woman told the gunman, "I have a son please don't hurt me." He took her purse, got in the passenger side of the late model luxury car and sped off, according to authorities.

“Police had the K9 unit with them, and they had flashlights and they were like looking through the cars, like under cars,” resident Brooklyn Hicks said.

Detectives tell Fox 29 the suspects fled to New Jersey and used the woman's credit cards at two South jersey gas stations within an hour.

Police are waiting for surveillance video from those two gas stations where the victim's credit cards were used. The victim in this case was not harmed.

The suspects are believed to be driving a dark colored Lincoln or Cadillac.
