Former Phillie, MLB Analyst Tossed From Kid's Game

Posted: Updated:

MLB analyst Mitch Williams says he was thrown out of a baseball game for 10-year-olds on Saturday for laughing at a call.

Williams, who coaches his son's team, was taking part in a Ripken Baseball tournament in Aberdeen, Md.

Deadspin.com reports that Williams complained about numerous calls that resulted in arguments with the umpires.

Williams took to Twitter to explain the incident tweeting, "to set the record straight. I was thrown out for laughing at a call. then the threatened to fight me. said pick a time and place."

He later added, "for those that think I'm making this up. it is on film. and when he threatened me 1 of my coaches came out and put his hands on him."

Deadspin reports there were profanities during the exchange and it took Williams 10 minutes to leave the field.

But some parents from Williams' team are defending the former Phillies closer, disputing claims that he cursed and saying it was the umpire who started it.
