73-Year Old Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Plymouth Meeting

Plymouth Meeting, Pa.- Police are investigating an armed robbery in Plymouth Meeting involving an elderly man.

On Friday May 9 at 1:25 a.m., Plymouth Township Police Officers responded to the 600 Block of West Germantown Pike for an armed robbery.

The victim was a 73-year old owner of a business in the 6600 to 6800 block of Germantown Avenue.

It is believed that the suspect was followed home from his place of business to his gated community located in Plymouth Township.

Local business owners and neighbors at the Plymouth Hill Condos where the victim was robbed are stunned.

“Scary, you never know who's behind you,” one resident said.

Another resident had the same feeling.

“That doesn't happen out here, and it's scary to think that something like that could happen,” local business owner Amy Segal said.

The victim told Fox 29 off camera that he believes the suspects stalked him from his Mount Airy business to the Wawa on Joshua Road on his way home from work early Friday morning.

That's when surveillance cameras caught the gunman on tape.

The suspect captured on surveillance video was armed with a handgun. The second suspect was described by the victim as a male, possibly Hispanic. The third suspect waited in a vehicle a short distance away.

According to authorities, the suspects followed him to his home, but couldn't enter the gated complex, so they parked on the shoulder, followed him inside and robbed him.

Police say they're working on several leads, but they would like the public's help to identify the suspect.

In the meantime, neighbors are on guard.

“If I get out of my car, I’m going to look around now,”Segal said.
